SAVIPA was created to respond to the needs of marginalized blind and partially sighted people in rural KwaZulu-Natal. The organisation works to improve quality of life through rehabilitation, education, disability awareness, independent living skills and community-based support.

SAVIPA provides hands-on training and support to help blind and partially sighted people build confidence, independence and everyday life skills.

Orientation, mobility and cane skills that help beneficiaries travel safely and confidently in their homes, communities and public spaces.

Daily Living
Skills

Hands-on training in personal care, food preparation, clothing care, home organisation and everyday self-sufficiency.

Communication Skills

Braille, labelling, reading, writing and accessible communication skills that help people communicate and manage daily tasks.

Personal Management

Support with budgeting, planning, appointments, communication, work-readiness and managing personal affairs.
